Even before I was diagnosed I preferred white letters on a black background. Then the background does not try to surround the words like the background kept trying to interfere with the letters on the wall at my ophthalmalogist, Bruce Cohan. Also, in my opinion children would not have so much trouble learning to read time on clocks and watches if the dial were black and the numbers were white. When I owned my own pharmacy I sought to design my ads in the newspaper with this reverse type. The owner of the paper admitted he wouldn’t want everyone to do this because of the cost of the ink. If you change your computer preference to high contrast it will display in this way and yet print black on white. To change to this pattern in Windows XP do the following:

Control Panel
Appearance and themes
At left see also: choose high contrast
Apply
O.K.
However, I haven’t figured out how to get smaller headings font color to change from a difficult to read blue. If anyone knows the solution please e-mail me at wheat42@hotmail.com.
