If you ask “Why did I create this site?”

My goal would be that no-one should have to go through what I went through to get where I am. I didn’t resolve Irlen Syndrome until I was 56 years old. Others thought I was studious in high school (I was writing everything the teachers said. In fact the senior class voted me as secretary) . College was difficult. I have nothing to gain but the satisfaction of sharing this message. I never would have imagined the impact of a defiency in visual perception. In fact the word perception was not part of my vocabulary.

Studies conducted by the National Institutes of Health in the mid-1990′s found that as many as twenty per cent of all school-aged children struggle to read. Reasons vary widely-for example insufficient exposure to language, poor teaching, lack of support at home-but one issue is not yet taken seriously by medical science: visual perception.
