This is a new search engine for those of us who prefer white characters on black. It was actually created to save energy. When your screen is white, being it an empty word page, or the Google page, your computer consumes 74 watts, and when it is black it consumes only 59 watts. Mark Ontkush suggested the energy savings this would bring about. Heap Media created a black version of its search engine, called Blackle, with the exact same functions as the white version of Google.
